Lightning Lane Tips

Lightning Lane allows you to reserve times to ride the most popular attractions. Here’s how it works:

Using Rider Switch

Traveling to Disney with young kids who aren't tall enough or brave enough for some rides? Rider Switch can help so one adult doesn’t always have to sit out. Here’s how:

  • Check for Rider Switch: Ask a Cast Member at the ride entrance if they offer Rider Switch. Most thrill rides do.
  • Request Rider Switch: Tell the Cast Member you want to use Rider Switch. They’ll split the adults into a first rider and a second rider. The second rider and any non-riding child will get a Ride Switch Entitlement.
  • Swap and Ride: After the first rider finishes, they swap with the second rider, who can then ride without waiting in line. The second rider can bring one guest to the front of the line.
